Training Tips

Phase 1: Call-back Conditioning

• Using manual mode, deliver a TONE and verbally call your dog back to you, giving a reward if necessary (affection or treat, per your own training method).

• If the dog doesn’t return to you promptly after delivering a TONE, deliver a VIBRATE or STATIC CORRECTION immediately.

• Repeat this process until the dog associates a TONE with a command to return to you without the verbal command.

• Re-run this process briefly when starting a new session or when a new user is in control.

Phase 2: Full-attention AUTOPROX™

• Using AUTOPROX™, set the boundary to the closest setting.

• While standing in place, allow the dog to wander while paying full attention to your dog and your surroundings. When warning TONE is delivered, verbally call the dog back.

• Repeat this process until the dog associates a TONE with a command to return to you without the verbal command.

Phase 3: Partial-attention AUTOPROX™

• Repeat Phase 2, but while walking so the dog can get used to staying near you on the go.

• As you and the dog adjust to the behavior of the system, ensure you are paying attention to the dog and giving verbal commands as needed.
